India Pakistan News Live Updates: Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistan’s actions over the last few days are being seen as “provocative and escalatory”. Col Sofiya Qureshi further said during the briefing that Pakistan tried to attack air base in Punjab. Col Qureshi also said that Pakistan military is observed to be moving their troops to border areas. Apart from targeting military bases, Pakistan also targeted medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura and Udhampur, Qureshi said on Saturday morning.
India retaliates against Pakistan’s air raid: Pakistan Air Force jets raided Srinagar on Saturday morning, with the Indian armed forces retaliating to the raid “effectively”. This comes after Pakistan launched multiple drone attacks in Indian border districts on Friday night and Saturday morning, with India’s air defence system intercepting them. On Friday evening, explosions were heard in Srinagar’s airport area, Samba, Jammu city and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir, Pathankot and Ferozepur in Punjab, and Barmer in Rajasthan as border areas witnessed blackouts Friday.
Rajouri ADC, two others die in Pak shelling: The Additional District Commissioner of Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thappa, as well as two other civilians died in heavy shelling by Pakistan in the DC colony of the Kashmir district. Thappa was injured after a shell fell on his house in the DC colony in Rajouri last night as heavy shelling continued through the night in the area. He succumbed to his injury hours later. Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah condoled Thappa’s death on Saturday morning, while visuals from the site showed the deceased officer’s house destroyed by shells.
